The next four pictures are of a squadron beach party at China Beach. Remember it from the TV series? The food consisted of hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, beer and then more beer. Actually we were very well fed while in Da Nang because the mess hall (cont.) |

was given double rations for each of us. This generally gave each meal a couple of meats to chose from and charcoal broiled steaks at least once a week. We were actually getting tired of the good life and a hot dog or macaroni and cheese tasted pretty good. The second, (cont.) |

This hungry group was always at the edge of our food
prosperity. It seemed as though no matter what we were eating, it
was always more than the people around us. The kids didn't let their
pride get in the way of their hungry stomachs.
