| Have just recently "discovered" the HMM 364 website
and noticed that I was deceased......dead & gone! Am pleased
to report to you that I am alive, well and enjoying retirement from the
US Postal Service. In reviewing the April 1, 66 info.......I was
flying as a gunner with Major Needham and, I believe, "Bambi". Cannot
for the life of me recall the Crew Chief. At any rate I was wounded
in the back of my neck during that extraction and was awarded the Purple
Heart. Also earned the Air Medal during my time with 364. I
was later promoted to Sgt E-5 with about 38 months in service. In
May 67 I was recivilized. The Marine tradition still runs deep.
So on April 1, 1966 it was really April Fool.... I wasn't dead.....just
scared shitless. (Now its easy to smile as I recall the experience.)
