G-5 Winning the Hearts and Minds
trip to Nui Kim Sanh, no ambush or mines in the road today, ladies asked
for a ride.

The village chief greeted us
as we arrived at Nui Kim Sanh and he proceeded to give us a tour of his
village.

We met this group of Grunts who were TAD to the "garden
spot" of Nui Kim Sanh. Their posting, for security reasons, lasted
several weeks but they indicated they liked it better than being in the
"bush."

The next stop was repaired wells and their new shower.

G-5 Trip's purpose was to deliver cash to pay the
workers for rebuilding this school house destroyed by the Viet Cong.
Materials were previously furnished also.

stop was the community center which also served as the local tavern.
