A Marine Named Miller.
When I arrived in country, and assigned to I/3/26, they were at Camp Evans.
The company was rebuilding from battles in early Sep' 68. Miller
was one of the 'old salts' in my platoon and took us 'new guys' under his
wing. He took us to Hill 881S and continued to take care of us.
Horrible to have forgotten his full name.

A Marine named Garcia.
Another of 'the old salts' who took us 'new guys' to Hill 881S. Both
he and Miller above taught us a lot and were probably instrumental in my
being alive today. I believe Garcia and Miller rotated home from
the Hill. I hope so anyway.

LCpl. Hassick's photo taken after CS gas crates were
dropped by a resupply helicopter and broke open. The CS drifted to
our hill and everybody put their gas mask on, the only problem was that
everybody had a beard and the masks would not seal tightly. Next,
everybody was out dry shaving to get rid of beards. Never a dull
moment on 881S!
