On a sweltering day Cpl. Smith found these "Vietnamese Tractors" in their swimming hole in the Nam Dong area.  They looked so content and cool that Smith thought seriously about joining them.

A Vietnamese recruit that was in the Khe Sanh area.  I thought at the time he didn't look much older than my little brother.

A Chinese Nung that the Special Forces had sent down to guard our plane while we were at their outpost.  They were excellent warriors and helped keep the Army Special Forces advisors alive.

Their parents killed, these kids are enroute to an orphanage.  All had been wounded, one three times.  Note the one second from left with cigarette.  Children always seem to be the losers in war.

Damage to the doorway and seat of this helo also resulted in Cpl. Robert G. Poynter being wounded in the legs.
