One avionics man was teaching another SAS balance
procedure one night. The SDO had turned the aircraft up. During
test the new man inadvertently toggled the 'guarded' hard over switch which
caused selected roll link to go full extension. Pilot had to be cut
out of the cockpit, only injury was one Marine in a hangar 300 yards away
- six foot piece of blade broke his leg. Talk about lucky!!!
