Cpl. Raymond A. Rodrigues was
the right gunner of YK-5 when the bird was hit by a rocket propelled grenade.

LCpl. Steve Lovelady was wounded in the above RPG
incident and was air evacuated back to the United States. A comment
in the squadron's command chronology indicates that it was probably Lovelady's
"bullet bouncer" that saved his life.
